2024 celebrates the beginning of a new era for Lorien Hall in her garden design practice. After a 20 year career in the industry serving the high-end residential sector in Northern Utah, Lorien is aligning her landscape designs with her work as an artist and naturalist more so than ever before.

Derived from her 2019 “100 GARDENS” project which explores layout, the Fibonacci sequence, and color palettes inspired from historical works of art, Lorien’s forthcoming gardens focus on simplicity, proportionality, and materiality while emphasizing Utah native and native-like plants. Function remains a priority in the development of her designs, but form and wonderment within the home garden environment hold equal or greater value.

Original works of art as everyday garden living is Lorien’s echoing anthem.

My gardens are an extensions of my art. In the spaces I create I want you to feel before you see. My intent with my work is not to impress, but to be impressionable.
